Welcome to my little corner of the internet.
I’m India, but only my adversaries refer to me that way. You can call me Indy. Indy Blue. Indy Sev. All mighty goddess of the world, whatever flows best.
My parents did a really good job of naming me.
Think about it. My actual birth given name is India Blue Severe.
With a name like that I’m either destined to win a Nobel Prize, write a best selling novel, star in my own prime time reality show, or be a stripper or something.
I haven’t figured out exactly where I’m going in life, but I’m excited.
I graduated high school, decided that college wasn’t for me, and started traveling the world instead. I’m the poster child for “social media obsessed, wanderlust driven, millennial”
My favorite thing in the entire world is documenting my life. Hence the blog. Hence the youtube channel. Hence the lengthy Instagram captions. It’s what I was born to do! My favorite form of capturing life is through video. I started filming a couple years ago, with no classes, no experience, no instruction manual and I’ve gotten pretty good at it over the years. Editing a slow motion running scene through the streets of Europe set to some dramatically beautiful music, is my drug of choice.
Writing however, is apart of me. I talk about video being my favorite, because I get excited to film. I spend my days thinking of video concepts, songs to use, shots to capture. Writing, is just always there. It’s second nature. I hardly consider it a hobby even, it’s just who I am.
And that’s why this blog is an extension of me. I’m not your typical blogger who plugs teeth whitening companies, and fitness tea. I don’t use affiliate links, I don’t get paid to post content. I just have a lot to say!
This is my 21 year old thoughts, and my 21 year old experiences and yeah, I could do it privately. I could use my creative energy to fill hundreds of journals. But making it public is a way for me to connect with really cool people, and inspire others with my embarrassing stories, and life lessons.
Also, it’s practice for when I have my own prime time reality show right??
Things you’ll learn about me:
Timing isn’t my thing. “Short and Sweet” isn’t in my vocabulary. (Haven’t you noticed?) I ramble on and on, and take too long to get the point across. in the time it takes to read one of my blog posts, you could have probably cleaned your entire house, met and fallen in love with your soulmate, ran a marathon, successfully explained the plot of pretty little liars, written an Oscar winning screenplay, I don’t know. I’m just warning you. I’m giving you guys content here.
I like rap music. More than a teenage Mormon girl from Utah should ever like rap music.
I speak in fluent pop culture references
Memes are the way to my heart
I’m a fangirl by choice, and I’m not quite sure if I will ever be fully devoted to another man the way I am to Harry Styles.
I’m an old soul, in the sense that as a little girl, I knew every Beatles song by heart. My favorite movie is “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” If I could have dinner with anyone living or dead, it would be Michael Jackson on my left, and Elvis Presley on my right. My style icons are Marcia Brady from the Brady Bunch, and Cher Horrowitz from Clueless. Young Leonardo DiCaprio will always and forever be my first love, and I wear crop tops like its still 1991. At the end of the day, I wonder why I wasn’t born in the 80’s. I could have thrived as a teenager in the 70’s for sure. Or even the early 90’s. But I’ve always felt like I belonged more with the Molly Ringwald’s of the world, than the Kim Kardashians. But I’ve come to realize why. Why I grew up when I did. Why I’m here, right now. And it’s because…
I love people. I love learning about people, talking to people, invading their privacy and asking to hold their babies. I love connecting. And that’s what this day and age is all about. Connection. You couldn’t connect with people in 1986 the same way you can in 2017. You just couldn’t. There’s more opportunities than ever before, and that is the simplest reason I can give you as to why I exploit myself to the internet as much as I do. Maybe it’s because I crave social validation. Maybe it’s because I want to show my kids how cool their mom was someday. But when it comes down to it, I use these platforms to connect. With YOU! I want to inspire people, help people. Through documenting my own life, I want to make someone’s day a little better. And that is the sole purpose of this blog.
And I hope you stick around awhile.
